How to Search the ACONE Lending Library

By Title

If you are looking for a particular title, select Title from the search type dropdown list and enter all or part of a title in the box to the right. Click the Search button. Results will include titles that contain the word or group of words entered.

By Author

If you are interested in selections by a particular author, select Author from the search type dropdown list and enter a first name, last name, or both in the box to the right. Click the Search button. Results will contain titles for which the author's name contains any of the names you entered.

By Keyword

If you want to search using descriptive keywords, select Keyword from the search type dropdown list and enter up to four keywords in the box to the right. Click the Search button. Results will contain titles for which any of the words you entered are contained in the title or description, so choose descriptive, rather than common, words. For example, a search that included words such as "a", "an", "the" or "and" would return most, if not all, of the titles in the database. You may also wish to enter related words such as "China" and "Chinese" to return all titles related to a keyword.

By Category

If you are interested in particular categories of titles, select the category of interest from the category dropdown list, and click the Search button. Results will contain titles assigned to the selected category. Each title is assigned to one or two best fit categories.

Exploring Categories

Each title is assigned to only one (best fit) category. You may wish to explore multiple categories if your area of interest matches more than one category.
